I was given the pleasure of meeting Elias Gurrola through a mutual friend and contemporary dance artist, Mark Schmidt. The three of us wanted to create a narrative that told a story of two individuals lost in a post apocalyptic world attempting to navigate the newly abandoned urban landscape.
The project was incredibly rewarding and challenging at the time. We were able to achieve three different looks at three different locations. Our first location being the stairwell at Elias's studio, then moving to the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, then finishing in Williamsburg's amazing water front. With Mark Schmidt, and Adam Rybak as models and Courtney Acomb as the make-up-artist, and of course Elias Gurrola as the amazingly talented designer we acheived everything we set out to accomplish.
